Seattle Pride Parade 2024: Date, time, route, events, where to watch

Seattle is ringing in its 50-year anniversary of Pride this month. This year's festivities include a parade downtown on Sunday, June 30 and PrideFest Street festival in Capitol Hill on Saturday June, 29, among other events.

Fifty years ago, more than 200 LGBTQIA+ community members gathered publicly in Seattle as an act of resistance, wrote Seattle Pride. Their purpose in gathering as a collective was to "expel shame and to stand in defiance of those who wished to keep us hidden and disempowered," the organization said.

This year's pride theme is a reflection of the "unwavering resilience" of the LGBTQ+ community and "an embodiment of our 1974's community echoing cry: NOW!" according to Seattle Pride.

When is the Seattle Pride Parade?

A preshow at Westlake Park kicks off at 10 a.m. and the official Seattle Pride Parade begins at 11 a.m. and goes until 3:30 p.m.

More than 300,000 parade-goers are expected to attend.

What is the Seattle Pride Parade route?

The parade will begin at Union Street and 4th Ave and follow along 4th Ave for several blocks, ending at 2nd Ave and Denny Way.

There will be street closures between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday at the following locations:

  • 3rd Ave from Denny Way to S. Washington Street

  • 4th Ave from Denny Way to S. Washington Street

  • 5th Ave from Denny Way to S. Washington Street

How to watch the Seattle Pride Parade

For anyone attending in person, you can watch the parade from the sidelines for free.

For those looking for grandstand seating along the route, there are seats for purchase on the northeast corner of 4th Avenue and Bell St as well as the northeast corner of 4th Avenue and Lenora.

Local news KIRO 7 will livestream the first two hours of the parade for those unable to attend in-person.
