Selena Gomez gives some inspiring advice to her little sister

Selena Gomez is the best big sister! The pop star posted a heartwarming sister moment with her young half-sibling Gracie Elliot Teefey to her Instagram on Oct. 17. The star revealed the beautiful bond she shares with her sister, despite their age difference.

The former Disney star is known for being passionate about raising girls’ confidence, having been no stranger to the struggles of low self-esteem herself. Therefore, Selena wants to make sure that her four-year-old sister grows up without fear.

In the video, Gracie is heard saying, “I’m not scared.” In response, the 25-year-old says firmly, “I know, because you’re fearless, right? You’re not scared of anything, right?” It’s an empowering and important message to receive from Selena, who also has another half-sister, Victoria Gomez, 3.

The “Same Old Love” singer continued her inspirational message in the caption of the photo: “I will forever let my sister know she is strong, bold and beautiful. She will be raised to know her voice matters. She is going to understand the importance behind being a leader and inspire others by her truth.”

After an extended break from her career, due to severe anxiety and panic attacks in the aftermath of her lupus diagnosis, Selena has stepped back into the limelight.

Her words of wisdom come mere months after undergoing a life-changing kidney transplant, due to her two-year-long struggle with her diagnosis. And, of course, Selena’s boyfriend Canadian musician The Weeknd was by her side through it all.
