Selena Gomez just wore my favourite $30 blush on the Golden Globes red carpet
I'm obsessed with this Rare Beauty blush, and so are shoppers.
If you're looking to recreate Selena Gomez's soft glam red carpet look from this year's Golden Globe awards, we've got all the details on the products you'll need.
The "Only Murders in the Building" star wore a full face of Rare Beauty products, and both Selena's makeup artist Hung Vanngo, as well as the brand broke down all the products used on Instagram.
Among the list of makeup must-haves that were used to create the look, I spotted one of my personal favourites from the line: the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush, which retails for $30 CAD/$23 USD.
Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush
I've been a fan of this liquid blush since it was first released in 2021, as it delivers a natural-looking flush to your cheeks from a powerful pigment — seriously, a little goes a very long way.
According to the brand, "this featherweight formula is infused with long-lasting pigments that last all day." It's available in matte or dewy finishes, and blends beautifully to create soft, buildable colour with a natural, second-skin finish.
For this year's Golden Globes, Selena wore the blush in the shade Hope, a nude mauve colour with a dewy finish. I've been using the blush in the shade Joy, a bright coral that works well on my olive skin tone.
What others are saying
Sephora shoppers have also been loving this Rare Beauty blush, as it's earned an impressive 4.5-star rating from more than 4,000 customer reviews.
"After using this product my cheeks looked amazing. 10 out of 10 recommend, will repurchase again," one person wrote.
"I've never loved a blush so much in life," raved another. "The pigment, quality, packaging, and colour ranges are incredible...There is a reason this blush is spoken so highly of, and I couldn't help but get my hands on it."
Shoppers have been impressed by the natural look of this blush, noting that it "blends perfectly into the skin."
"It feels hydrating and it’s perfect for the no makeup makeup look," one person wrote.
"Super buildable and natural looking when applied with a beauty blender. Also stays on and doesn't fade as fast as some of my other blushes," another added.
In spite of all the positive reviews, some shoppers have found that this blush is "hard to work with" due to its intense colour payoff. Many reviewers recommend using a single dot of product on each cheek, while others even suggest that you "put a dot on your hand, blend with a brush and apply" for more control.
Personally, I like applying a single dot of blush onto each cheek, along with two dots of Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Luminizer Highlight, then using a damp makeup sponge to blend it out for a natural, dewy effect.
Final thoughts
While there is a definite learning curve to getting the hang of using Rare Beauty's Soft Pinch Liquid Blush, it's well worth the effort in my opinion. Since using it for myself, it's become one of my go-to makeup products for a natural flush, and I've even gifted it to family members for Christmas.
If you're worried about the application process, I'd suggest practicing applying this blush once or twice before any kind of special event to get the hang of things. Trust me, it might just become your new favourite too.
