Sherri Shepherd, 51, poses in a swimsuit after losing 25 pounds: 'Truly a dream come true'

Sherri Shepherd has said goodbye to sugar and hello to sexy swimsuits.

The actress and former co-host of The View is embracing her new gig as a swimsuit model after losing 25 pounds. Shepherd, a Type 2 diabetic, told fans that her 14-year-old son, Jeffrey, inspired her to “get my health together.” Now, she’s starring alongside Ashley Graham in a swimsuit campaign for the size-inclusive brand Swimsuits For All.

The comedian shared behind-the-scenes footage of her body-positive shoot with her Instagram followers, writing, “This photo shoot was truly a dream come true and to you ladies over 40 … please remember nothing is impossible if you focus and commit to the work. God has not forgotten you. He sees those desires and dreams you have hidden deep in your heart. I hope my journey inspires you to commit to your health and face those fears.”

Shepherd showed off her slimmed-down figure in a plunging black one-piece with a revealing cut-out detail at the midriff.

“This was a particularly scary move for me [because] I artfully disguise everything on my body I don’t want seen,” she wrote in another Instagram post. “But I said yes to being in a swimsuit [because] I wanted to encourage you to run towards the very things you fear [because] there are amazing blessings on the other side.”

Despite transitioning from comedian to swimsuit model, Shepherd hasn’t lost her sense of humor. She also documented herself frantically shaving her legs for the shoot and joked with Graham about acting sexy for the camera.

“I wears my sexuality like I got it on a Target rack clearance sale,” she quipped.

Fans disagree, judging by the comments left on her posts.

“You look spectacular!” gushed one.

“I love how much you’re feeling yourself with this photo shoot.,” read another comment. “You look amazing and deserve to feel great about yourself! “
