As a huge fan of all things from the “Awkward Black Girl”-turned-Hollywood-mogul in the making, I was absolutely floored when Rae took to Instagram to unveil her April cover for Essence. She radiates spring beauty in a white PatBo “Bo Ruffle Maxi” dress, white strappy heels, a matching custom head wrap from her own hairstylist, Felicia Leatherwood, adorning her box braids and a bright pink blush look by celebrity makeup artist Joanna Simkin. It’s like the 34-year-old star brought to life all of my warm-weather fashion dreams.
But what really sets off this ensemble are her moon hoop earrings by Oscar de la Renta ($190). The lunar jewelry play up the magical feeling of the shoot, which was set in New Orleans.
