Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas' dog Waldo killed in 'freak accident' in New York City

Newlyweds Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are mourning the loss of their dog Waldo Picasso after he was hit and killed by a car in New York City on Wednesday.

The Alaskan Klee Kai, who was regularly spotted with the couple out and about in Manhattan, got spooked by a pedestrian and broke free of his dog walker before running into the street ahead of an oncoming vehicle. The "freak accident" was originally reported by TMZ last week.

The couple filed a report two days later, on Friday, after being "so torn up" about the loss and visiting a therapist after the accident. The driver, who took off after the incident, allegedly won't be charged.

Waldo was adopted by the couple in April 2018 and was their second Alaskan Klee Kai. His brother Porky was from the same litter and was a surprise for Turner.

Jonas recently opened up about his two pooches during People's Sexiest Man Alive issue in 2018.

“They live a pretty fabulous life,” Jonas told the outlet. "They have probably traveled more than most of my friends."
