Even supermodel Ashley Graham gets shy wearing a swimsuit
Ashley Graham has proven to be one of the world’s most sought after supermodels, already gracing the pages of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, as well as Vogue, and even showcasing her sensational curves as an ambassador and designer for the swimwear brand Swimsuitsforall — but the 29-year-old admittedly still gets shy when she hits the beach.
“I mean, of course like any girl when you get to the beach or the pool and you go, ‘Oh, I have to take my cover-up off, crap.’ And you feel like everybody’s watching, and then you just go, ‘Oh fine, I’ll just take it off,’ ” Graham said in a recent interview with People. “And then all of a sudden you get comfortable and go, ‘OK. Another piña colada.'”

That’s not to say that Graham is intimidated wearing a swimsuit, she’s more than comfortable sharing sultry snaps with her 4.2 million Instagram followers — not a problem, according to Graham, as she feels good about her body all year long.
“I try to stay consistent throughout the year, and when I have a heavy week I have meals delivered to my house so that I’m making healthy choices,” Graham, told People Now. “But I try not to eat dairy, and I haven’t worked out in a couple weeks but I still feel great.”
The model, who recently stripped down and posed nude for V Magazine, learned powerful lessons about body positivity from her mother.

There is no such thing as perfection, so stop striving for it.

In the interview, Graham said: “I remember my first signs of cellulite, in middle school. I remember telling my mom, ‘Isn’t it disgusting? It’s so ugly.’ She pulled her pants down and said, ‘Look, I have it, too.’ And I was like, ‘Gasp!’ She looked at me, then at it, and just rolled her eyes. She didn’t tell me that it’s beautiful or ugly. She just made it a nonissue. It doesn’t define my worth. If women like you and me continue to preach that, then I feel like younger girls are going to grasp it and they’re going to be like, ‘Who cares!'”
