Is Subway Teaming Up with Doritos to Introduce New Footlong Nachos?
A food blogger reported that the brands have created the Doritos Footlong Nachos, sparking some controversy among fans
What's going on at Subway?
Speculation swirled about the popular sandwich chain after food blogger @snackolator seemingly revealed Subway's latest footlong endeavor — nachos, featuring beloved chip brand Doritos.
"Subway is getting wild with the footlong menu with Doritos Footlong Nachos!" the blogger wrote on Instagram.
PEOPLE reached out to both Subway and Frito-Lay, which produces Doritos, for comment, but did not receive an immediate response.

According to the post, Footlong Nachos have a Doritos base, and are reportedly topped with melted cheese triangles, meat and additional sauces and toppings.
The food blogger wrote that the new menu item is being tested around the United States. They said they found out this information after another food blogger, @junkfoodjunction, gave them a "heads up" that the new nachos were being tested in Canada.
"If you're upset you can't find them nearby, this should be a nationwide release in the spring!" @snackolator continued. "The toppings might change (or maybe you can just pick them out like you would with a sub) but this should be a fun footlong option."

Subway lovers — some thrilled, some baffled — flocked to the post's comment section to share their reactions.
A few fans saw the new menu item as too far removed from what Subway is known for. Others noted that Doritos nachos might impact the sandwich shop's efforts towards building a reputation as a healthy fast food option.

"I'm glad subway is finally cutting the bull with being a healthy place and giving the people what they want 🤤😂," one comment posted.
"I think it's a great idea! I'm not particularly a fan of Nachos, but members of my family are," another comment wrote. "It would be nice for them to have an alternative, besides a salad, when I want a sub and they don't. Great idea."
