Feeling a little adventurous? Gliding down the longest zip line in the country from atop the Great Smoky Mountains just might be the thrill you need.
WildSide, a new adventure park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, will soon be home to a zip line that’s more than a mile long, making it the longest in the United States. The Mega Zip “promises to deliver an unparalleled experience” for experienced zip liners and beginners, according to WildSide.
“Our goal with this new attraction was to push the boundaries of adventure and provide our guests with a unique and unforgettable experience you won’t find anywhere else in the United States,” WildSide founding partner Bryce Bentz said in a news release.
“We’re excited to bring the longest continuous zip line in America, where guests can enjoy the thrill of flying while taking in some of the most stunning views in the Great Smoky Mountains,” Bentz continued.

The Mega Zip will run 5,771 feet. Riders will begin at an elevation of 2,472 feet in the Smoky Mountains and descend more than 1,000 feet, ending at an elevation of 1,377 feet.
At 5,523 feet, the Catamonster Zip at Catamount Mountain Resort in Hillsdale, New York, is the longest zip line in the country right now.

The Mega Zip is set to open in spring 2025, according to WildSide.
What is WildSide adventure park?
WildSide is an off-road and mountain bike adventure park. It opened in July. The park spans nearly 900 acres of untouched mountain land, and trails have up to 1,500 feet of elevation change.
Thrill-seekers can twist, turn, climb and drop across 7 miles of mountain bike trails and 8 miles of utility task vehicle (UTV) trails. There are trails for all levels of experience.
UTV adventures give guests the opportunity to go on guided tours through forested paths and rocky terrain. There are three tour UTV sizes, ranging from two to six riders per vehicle.
The park is the brainchild of the creators behind Anakeesta, a nature-immersive adventure park in Gatlinburg.
