Tessa Virtue now has her own Barbie – see the photo here!

In honour of International Women's Day (March 8), Barbie is transforming into some of the world's most successful women, including Canadian Tessa Virtue! Mattel, the company that creates the iconic doll, has created 20 new dolls as part of its 'role models' series. They're also tied to Barbie's 60th anniversary celebration.

According to a press release, this year's lineup of dolls is the most diverse ever, and includes women from a variety of continents and professions. Alongside Tessa there's activist Adwoa Dboah from the U.K. and journalist Ita Buttrose from Australia. Supermodel Ashely Graham and aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart also had dolls made in their likeness, as did Black-ish actress Yara Shahidi.

Yara Shahidi, Ashley Graham and more now have their own Barbies.

Tessa tweeted her excitement about being included in the collection on Wednesday (March 6): "I’ve been wanting to share this news forever! SO EXCITED & HONOURED to be part of it. More to come, need to collect my emotions first." The Barbie website calls her "one-half of a team known for their legendary elegance, athleticism, innovation, and their unparalleled ability to skate in unison." (The other half is, of course, Scott Moir. The pair ended the Pyeongchang Games as the most decorated figure skaters in Olympic history.)

"The Barbie role model program is Mattel's way of honouring women who are breaking boundaries to inspire the next generation of girls. Tessa, like other honourees, was chosen because through hard work, determination and dedication, she shows girls every day that you can be anything," Lisa Perry, brand manager for Mattel Canada, said in a statement.
