Thatcher and Lexie Demko have welcomed their first child.

Over the weekend, the Vancouver Canucks goaltender and his wife took to Instagram with a carousel of photos, announcing the arrival of their son, Dawson.

The new mom shared three adorable photos of her newborn son peacefully swaddled and settling into his new home after leaving the hospital, alongside a "hilarious" caption.

"OK he’s here, now someone get me a cocktail," she quipped.

Fans and loved ones were overjoyed with the news and rushed to the comments to congratulate the new parents and praise Demko for her relatable caption.

"I could not be more obsessed! My heart is so full. Love you so much, Lex. So proud of you," one person wrote.

Another shared: "Best baby announcement to date."

"Best caption ever. Congrats!" a fan commented.

An Instagram user penned: "Hilarious caption. He's so cute! Congratulations, mama."

Dawson's arrival comes just over one year after the pair tied the knot in California. At the time, Lexie Demko shared a series of dreamy wedding photos with her Instagram followers and a caption calling it the "best day" of their lives.

"07.16.22. A dream," she wrote, paired with a sparkle emoji. "A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this day the best of our lives!"

The Demkos weren't the only Canadian NHL couple to welcome their first baby recently.

Last week, Edmonton Oilers' star Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and wife Breanne Nugent-Hopkins announced the birth of their daughter, Lennon Ayla, with a sweet snap of their little one sound asleep wrapped in a blanket.

Nugent-Hopkins first announced her pregnancy back in March, with an Instagram post of a onesie with text written across the front that reads "Baby Nuge" in cursive, above her expectant "August 2023" due date. She also included an ultrasound photo of her baby next to the onesie, pinned to a clothesline.

"Can't wait to meet you, baby," Nugent-Hopkins captioned the post, along with a white heart.
