Following the madness of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, a new holiday has taken off in recent years following the biggest shopping days with a focus on giving back to the community, rather than on hunting for deals.

On Giving Tuesday (the day following Cyber Monday), many brands are opting to raise awareness for different causes by donating a portion of sales or highlighting special charitable collaborations. Many charities are also doubling any donations made today, so that every charitable donation does even more good.

In honour of Giving Tuesday, 100 per cent of sales from Popsocket’s line of Poptivism accessories will be donated to charity, instead of the usual 50 per cent.

Partnering with the organization Immigrant Families Together, 50 per cent of today’s proceeds will be going towards reuniting and supporting families separated at the U.S./Mexico border.

Girlfriend Collective

Today when you shop Girlfriend Collective’s collection of activewear made from recycled plastic, they’ll donate 20 per cent of each sale to humanitarian aid organization, Direct Relief. For Collective account members, you’ll also receive double points to use towards future purchases.

For Giving Tuesday, Reese Witherspoon’s Southern-inspired brand will be donating 100 per cent of the proceeds from their Sisterhood Collection to Girls Inc., a non profit organization that focuses on focus on supporting, mentoring, and guiding girls in an affirming, pro-girl environment.

Lush

On December 3rd, for every purchase of their Charity Pot lotion, Lush is donating 200% of its price to grassroots organizations working to protect and preserve our environment and empower youth.
