Who said beauty vlogging was just for girls? Certainly not Manny Gutierrez. The California-based makeup artist and beauty vlogger has racked up more than 500,000 YouTube subscribers since launching his channel in 2014.

“Honestly, I believe that men can wear makeup, teach makeup, and vlog about it just as much as girls can and I am fighting for that equality with my channel,” Gutierrez writes on in his YouTube bio.

Currently, his channel has more than 80 videos covering everything from how to overdraw your lips like Kylie Jenner to applying fake eyelashes. He also takes questions from commenters and followers discussing non-beauty issues like his parents concerned reaction to him becoming a YouTube star, his anxiety disorder, how he would like to have kids one day and how being an online role model has made him a nicer person.

“I didn’t give a sh*t about what people thought of me before,” he admits.

Although there was some initial backlash to the vlogger when he first launched with one tweeter asking, "what would you do if this was your son?“ he now has a strong group of online supporters who call themselves “MANNYACS.” Gutierrez has also collaborated with Gerard Cosmetics to launch his own lipstick with rumours of more collaborations to come.
