Tim Walz Signed A 'Taylor Swift' Bill Into Law While Governor – Let Us Explain
Proof that none of us are immune from the contagion that is becoming a Swiftie, Kamala Harris' newly-appointed running mate, Tim Walz, has been revealed as a die-hard fan of the superstar.
Earlier this year, as fans of Swift's were struggling to get their hands on tickets to her sell-out Eras tour, the then-Minnesota governor signed a so-called 'Taylor Swift Bill' into law, which protects people buying tickets online for concerts, sporting events and other live events in the state.

The law, which is called House File 1989, a reference to Swift's year of birth and sell-out album of the same name, requires ticket sellers to disclose all fees upfront and prohibits resellers from selling more than one copy of a ticket, among other measures. The law applies to tickets purchased in Minnesota or other states for concerts or other live events held in the state.
Walz, who was first elected as Minneapolis' governor in 2018, is a self-professed Swiftie. In 2022, he tweeted his frustration at not being able to buy Swift tickets himself, posting a picture of his cat Afton snarling along with the caption: 'Afton after being online all day and not getting Taylor Swift tickets.'
Swifties, who in their droves have thrown their support behind Harris since she was announced as President Joe Biden's successor to the Democratic ticket, flocked to X to share their glee at learning of Walz's love for Swift. 'SWIFTIE VP!! TICKETMASTER COUNT YOUR DAYS BABYYYYY!!!!!!!!,' one user wrote.
