New ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ Trailer Previews How the Maximals Shapeshift Into Wild Animals

Viewers can look forward to witnessing a whole lot of action from the Maximals in the upcoming Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. The first trailer for the movie introduced the powerful beings, who are descendants of the Autobots.

A second trailer has now dropped, over a closer look at the Maximals, which are capable of transforming into animals. This particular cut shows a Maximal gorilla and leopard who will presumably be assisting Terrorcons in their fight against a common, world-threatening enemy.

The enemy threat comes in the form of Unicron. Introduced in the 1986 Transformers animation, Unicron appears to be a robot but is also capable of shapeshifting into a giant planet.

Arriving five years after the 1980s-set Bumblee, the Stephen Caple Jr.-directed Rise of the Beasts skips forward a few years, taking place in 1994.

Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback lead the human cast, alongside a supporting roster of actors that includes Michelle Yeoh, Peter Dinklage, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Pete Davidson, Luna Lauren Velez, Dean Scott Vazquez, Tobe Nwigwe, Peter Cullen, Ron Perlman, Liza Koshy, John DiMaggio and more.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts premieres in theaters on June 9. Before then, watch the new trailer for the film above.

In other entertainment news, Jerry Springer, famed talk show host, has died at 79.
