The Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low 'Medium Olive' Drops This Weekend
During the summer, Travis Scott released the 'canary' colourway of his highly coveted take on the Air Jordan 1 Low. We called it a prequel, since its playful appearance harked back to the rapper's days at school.
Now, for the new season, we're getting a soft reboot. Of? The 'olive' Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low – a colourway which was said to mark the end of an era upon its launch in spring 2023. And if it did, this brand-new version – which lands at Nike retailers this weekend – marks a new one.
Together, Nike and Cactus Jack (the musician's record label-turned-multidisciplinary brand) have come up with the name 'medium olive' which follows the collaboration's nomenclature since it highlights the utilised shade that truly affords the shoe some individuality.
Sneakerheads and Scott acolytes alike will liken the moniker to that of the trainer line's golf spin-off, 'neutral olive'. But 'medium olive' shares most in common with the aforementioned 'olive' colourway that dropped in April last year. In fact, you could call it the 'reverse olive' since the hits of black and green that colour the OG have been switched.
Just like all good reboots, the fan-favourite details endure, including the flipped swoosh on the lateral sidewall, the Cactus Jack branding on the medial sidewall and the tongue and the embroidery on the heel. Plus, the packaging keeps with tradition: you get the usual sail and brown box filled with pink dual-branded paper which covers the sneakers and the spare laces (you get pink and black along with the pre-installed white pair).
In summary, it has all the trappings of a new classic. And we'd bet our bottom dollar that sneakerheads will be just as fond of it as they are the original. We certainly are.
The Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low 'medium olive' is releasing on 28 September 2024 in toddler sizes (£49), kid sizes (£54.99) and adult sizes (£145).
You can enter the raffle over on End and Afew today, wait for the Nike SNKRS app draw (8am on Saturday 28) or join #teamearly by copping them from StockX.
