I Tried Taco Bell's New Dipping Burritos—Here's My Honest Review

It wasn't until my senior year of college that I finally tried Taco Bell. I may have been a late fast food bloomer, but I've made up for lost time in Crunchwrap Supreme orders since. And while I've rarely swayed from my fave (minus a short but passionate fling with the Quesarito), there's a new menu item that's toppled my go-to and demanded my attention: Dipping Burritos.

Earlier this week, T-Bell announced the limited-edition release of the "bold, cheesey, and craveable addition." Dedicated journalist that I am, I immediately took to the Uber Eats app and ordered both variations—the Cantina Slow-Roasted Chicken and Marinated Steak. Both are piled with protein and covered in a melty cheese layer. You get your choice of savory sauces: Creamy Chipotle, Nacho Cheese, or Reduced-Fat Sour Cream for the "ultimate customization."

The order itself is basically a two-in-one deal with double the burrito secured by gooey cheese in the center. You can fold it into a classic burrito shape and size or separate them (complete with the perfect cheese pull, naturally) for a snack now and snack later. Behold:

I tried them both ways for the full effect and quickly realized the brilliance in splitting the burrito (which is likely the entire point): it transforms the burrito into the perfect dipping size. You get just the right amount of sauce without spilling the container entirely. Genius!

Since I'm typically more of a chicken fan than steak, I started with the Roasted Cantina Dipping Burrito. It was delicious! Melty! Indulgent, in fact! It paired perfectly with the Creamy Chipotle Sauce and practically melted in my mouth. However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the steak as my ultimate favorite. The meat was tender and flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning. Suddenly, my beloved Crunchwrap Supreme felt like old hat—or, gasp, just mediocre.

The Dipping Burritos nationwide launch comes after a successful trial run in Detroit, Michigan just last year. "As Taco Bell’s first limited-time offer innovation of 2025, this launch marks the beginning of an exciting year of bold flavors and inventive formats at Taco Bell, designed to make every bite an experience," the brand said in an official statement.

Try it for yourself and tell me your entire Taco Bell order isn't changed. You can't.
