Canadian NHL star Troy Stecher proposes to long-time girlfriend Emma Vincent
The two have been together for more than seven years, since before Stecher's NHL debut.
Yet another Canadian NHL star has popped the question this summer.
Arizona Coyotes defenseman Troy Stecher, who formerly played for the Vancouver Canucks, proposed over the weekend to his long-time girlfriend, Emma Vincent.
The couple announced the engagement with a Monday Instagram post, showing the two embracing in a hug in one photo, and Stecher down on one knee in another.
Vincent wore a halter-top patterned maxi dress, while Stecher opted for a casual shorts-and-tee fit.
"8.12.23," the newly-engaged couple captioned their post, referencing the date of the engagement.
The two have been together for more than seven years, since before Stecher's NHL debut.
Their friends rushed to the comments to congratulate them on the big move — including Canadian singer Michael Bublé.
Bublé commented a series of five clapping emojis and six heart emojis on the post.
Fellow NHL star Bo Horvat also chimed in to say, "Congrats guys! Happy for you."
Many fans also jumped in with positive notes.
"My heart is bursting for you," one wrote, while another added: "That is just so exciting! So happy for you."
Vincent and Stecher have also had a Bernese dog together for several years now, named Phoebe.
Many brought her up in the engagement announcement as well.
"Yes! Congrats to Phoebe's parents!" one person wrote.
"Congrats! I bet phoebe is excited!" another added.
Their engagement came just a week after fellow Canadian NHLer Carter Verhaeghe got engaged to his girlfriend, Casey Engleson.
The Florida Panthers player got down on one knee in Alberta, in a setting that fans called "magical."
"She got her ring, now let's see Swaggy get his at the end of the season!" one person shared.
"Omg, so freaking magical!! Cannot wait to get you married," another penned.
