It’s been more than a year since many offices in Canada shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and if you’re anything like me, it doesn’t appear that you’ll be heading back any time soon. That equates to hours and hours spent at my desk at home, and although I’ve made sure to make as many ergonomic adjustments as possible, I still found that my setup was lacking.
Replacing my sad old dining room chair with an actual office chair was the first item on my checklist, but with the height of my desk not perfectly aligned with my seat, I was finding my feet frequently falling asleep, leading to uncomfortable (and not to mention detrimental) seating positions.
Experts have noted the importance of incorporating regular movement into your daily routine, but if you’re looking for a way to make your seat more comfortable, one solution that has worked for me is the help of an under desk footrest.
Designed with a flat side and a curved side, the foot rest adds the extra few inches that I need in order to have a more comfortable placement for my feet on the ground. I’m also a big fan of keeping the curved side facing the floor, since it also allows for a rocking motion when I start feeling restless.
While the foot rest I purchased came from Etsy, one similar top-rated style is currently on sale on Amazon. The Everlasting Comfort Office Foot Rest is now on sale for $38, and has thousands of five-star reviews from happy customers.
SHOP IT: Amazon, $38 (originally $42)
With a compact size that easily fits anywhere you need foot support, this teardrop-shaped footrest helps to elevate your legs, making for a more comfortable seated position. It features an ergonomically contoured structure that lets you place your feet in numerous positions to help fight tired legs and feet.
It’s made from cooling memory foam, so your feet won’t feel overheated while keeping them in place throughout the day. A fabric cover is also machine-washable, so your footrest always stays fresh.
What shoppers are saying
So far, the Everlasting Comfort Office Foot Rest has earned nearly 10,000 five-star reviews worldwide, for a 4.6-star rating overall. Shoppers have called it a "great addition" to their work from home setups, and "soft but supportive."
"This has been a great addition in my search for comfort while working from home. The tear drop shape is very comfortable and the size is nice and wide so that I can sit comfortably," shared one reviewer. "It's not overly soft but not overly hard either. The bottom is textured and does provide some grip when you put a little force on the pillow. All in all a great product!"
Many reviewers have called it a much more comfortable option than the hard plastic footrests that are often seen in offices.
"This is ideal for anywhere that you need a footrest. It's comfortable and stays in place even when sitting on a plastic chair mat. It's more comfortable than the adjustable plastic foot rest that I have at the office and I would recommend it," shared one reviewer.
Although it’s received mainly positive reviews, some shoppers have noted that the Everlasting Comfort Office Foot Rest is on the softer side, and depending on how you like to sit, you may find that it’s too narrow.
"Overall this is a pretty good footrest. It isn't super soft or firm, it has a nice balance to it. I only wish it was wider. If you don't like to sit with your feet close together, this will be a problem," read one review.
While I can’t attest to the Everlasting Comfort Office Foot Rest, I can say that since I've incorporated a similar foot rest to my home office, things have never been more comfortable. If you’re considering picking one up for yourself, thousands of Amazon shoppers are already a fan of this affordable footrest.
At just $38, it’s an affordable way to add some extra comfort to your desk and might just become your new go-to product.
