This Versatile Mini Dress Is Just So Easy to Wear

Staud's Vincent Mini Dress isn't new: It's a hero silhouette for the brand, which also makes it in blouses and midi-length dresses. But it's a recent addition to my wardrobe. I ordered it during Shopbop's phenomenal Amazon Prime Day sale, half expecting to decide I didn't really need it and make a return. But then I proceeded to try it on — and not want to ever take it off again.
The dress, which features three-quarter-length puff sleeves, a gathered round neckline and buttons down the middle, is made from a super lightweight blend of 98% cotton and 2% spandex. That means it's breathable and slightly stretchy, yet structured enough that it doesn't just turn into a crumpled, limp potato sack-adjacent bummer when it's on. (It's worth noting that the khaki colorway is currently on sale for $70 on Staud's website with the code EXTRA20... I might have to do something about that.)

In the few weeks I've owned it, it's already become a bonafide wardrobe staple for me. Casual dresses are a lazy-girl outfit necessity (put on one single garment — you're done!), and this one is so versatile and comfy I simply haven't found an occasion it doesn't work for. I've paired it with flat sandals for a dinner out with friends, with sneakers to walk around the city on the one sub-90-degree day we've had this month and with a cardigan slung over my shoulders to an overly air-conditioned lunch meeting.
And while I've clearly found plenty of ways to wear it in the summer, I'm also looking forward to styling it with some knee-high boots so I can keep it in heavy rotation as things start to cool off in the fall.
