The beauty of family is blooming in a viral video showcasing a unique wedding tradition.

On April 18, wedding photographer Rachel Leiner shared a delightful clip on Instagram offering a behind-the-scenes look at a large group of women taking part in a "flower shower." The video showed multiple generations — from little girls to grandmothers — bustling around tables covered with buckets of colorful tulips, calla lilies, roses and other flower varieties.

They chatted and laughed as they worked, snipping stems, making artful arrangements, tying ribbons and filling small etched crystal vases inside an elegant room featuring a vaulted ceiling adorned with floral and fauna-themed frescoes. Many of the ladies were wearing floral-print dresses and vibrant, spring-inspired colors for the occasion.

In another recent wedding flower-related story, Tennessee newlyweds Taylor and Jeff Weikel shared a video on TikTok documenting how they saved thousands of dollars by growing their own wedding flowers.

The clip showed the couple planting seeds, watering and tending to their garden over the successive weeks as flowers began to sprout up. It ended with footage of the two sitting together in their wedding attire as they held up vases filled with their home-grown blooms at their reception.

Taylor told PEOPLE that they got the idea to grow their own flowers after Jeff was surprised to learn about the steep cost of wedding florals.

"We both also love being outdoors and working with our hands and thought, 'Why not?' " Taylor said, noting that they had a backup plan in case their gardening project was a bust.

"If growing our flowers didn't work out, we would source them from a wholesaler or from Trader Joe's."

In addition to trimming their wedding budget, the Weikels also discovered some surprising perks through the process of growing their own flowers.

"Not only did we spend more quality time together outside, but you also learn a hobby together and even work on problem-solving skills, which are all amazing things to learn before you tie the knot," Taylor said.
