Watch this lost 'Elf on the Shelf' rescued by a sheriff's deputy

A police officer created a moment of Christmas magic for a little girl in Georgia when he returned her missing Elf on the Shelf.

Laura Jennings' daughter had a problem. Betsy, her Elf on the Shelf, had wandered off. Fortunately, she was found by Officer Cross, who drove to the little girl's home with his passenger in tow.

After quizzing the girl about her elf, just to make sure he was in the right place, he revealed that Betsy was found wandering near the local school and was now safe and sound in the backseat of his patrol car. Then, donning special gloves, as, of course, elves shouldn't be touched, he returned Betsy to her rightful owner.

Watch the video above to see a little girl's joyful reaction to the return of her wandering Elf.
