Wendy Williams Thinks Christie Brinkley Faked A Broken Arm to Get Out of 'Dancing With the Stars'
Dancing With the Stars producers were thrown for a loop just days before the competition was about to start when one of the contestants, model Christie Brinkley, broke two bones in her wrist during rehearsals and had to undergo surgery. Her daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, stepped in at the last minute to fill her mom's spot for the remainder of the competition. While the situation seemed chaotic and left many DWTS fans feeling bad for Brinkley and supportive of Sailor's brave decision, talkshow host Wendy Williams had some other thoughts.
During Monday's episode of The Wendy Williams Show, the host discussed the last-minute switch up, and the footage of Christie's fall that lead to her injury, which had been released earlier that day.
"Well, that looked fake as hell,” Williams said. “Let me tell you what I see. I don’t see a wrist and a shoulder being fractured. But that was real cute."
Williams then delved into her conspiracy theory as to why Brinkley, 65, would fake an accident in the first place. According to Williams, the whole scenario was likely arranged to get 21-year-old Sailor, who works as a Sports Illustrated model, more exposure.
"In my opinion, I think what Christie did was she signed up for Dancing With the Stars knowing that she’d put her daughter Sailor in there,” Williams said, later adding "Now, you know, Sailor is beautiful. Sailor is a Sports Illustrated model, but that’s not as big as being a Kendall Jenner, you know, who came out of nowhere and she's a supermodel of the world. In order for girls to get this leg up, it takes more than beauty, you have to have cache. And that Dancing with the Stars has got a lot of eyeballs watching [...] So my thought is that she said, ‘Look, Sailor, here’s what we we’re going to do. I’m going to go to a few of these practices, I’m going to go on Good Morning America, get all the press and stuff, I’m going to walk around looking hot and sexy, and then I’m going to play like I broke something.’ And she did break something, allegedly. Although Christie, I must tell you, there wasn’t a believing person in my entire bureau meeting this morning."

After seeing Sailor's stunning performance on Monday night's premiere of DWTS, for which she earned a standing ovation, some fans online appeared to come to the same conclusion as Williams.
I'm sorry, but why do I have doubts about this whole arrangement?

Well she knew the plan for more than 3 days... If the choreography of that fall was any indication of how her moms dancing would be, I'd say having Sailor is a blessing

This was so fake. Christie Brinkley's "accident" was so fake. This is a set up.

In an interview with People, Brinkley responded to the harsh claims, and denied Williams’ theory. “I’m totally shocked, because I have been there for Wendy Williams. That is so weird,” she said, bursting into tears. “I have to give her a call … I’m really stunned.”
Sailor, who is paired up with pro Val Chmerkovskiy, will be back to perform on next week's episode of Dancing With the Stars on Monday Sept. 23 at 8 p.m on ABC.
