An 11-year-old's Christmas came early with a special surprise that left him absolutely over the moon.

Kellan couldn't believe his eyes when he spotted a tail-wagging puppy on the other side of his grandma's glass sliding door. At first, he was confused, asking whose dog it was. However, his confusion quickly turned into joyful disbelief when his parents revealed the exciting news - the adorable furry friend was his!

“He actually asked for a bird this year since he thought a puppy was totally out of the question,” his mom, Sevrena Velthius, said. “My husband and I both said, ‘No way.’ But then we started thinking, and we decided it was time for a puppy!”

As the realization sank in that his Christmas wish had come true in the most unexpected way, Kellan's face lit up with pure joy and amazement.

According to Sevrena who captured the moment, Kellan named the puppy Moon.

“He’s already very best friends with him,” she added.
