It’s from the most unexpected retailer.

As a shopping editor and fashion lover, nothing makes me happier than the question, ‘Where did you get that?’ For fear of sounding braggy, it always justifies that I’m great at what I do, a.k.a. finding desirable fashion pieces. What makes me even prouder is when the item I’m being asked about is super affordable.

A large portion of my wardrobe is from Walmart, and as an expert who regularly covers the store’s top deals and new arrivals, I can confidently say that the fashion selection is some of the best I’ve seen in years. I was recently sent the Free Assembly Long-Sleeve Cardigan to review, and it’s quickly become a staple in my capsule wardrobe—plus, it's only $26.

I’m not lying when I say I can be a bit of a snob when it comes to clothing, and I do enjoy designer pieces, although my wallet would strongly disagree. I care about finding new styles that are comfortable and elevated and will last me several years without showing significant signs of wear and tear.

Don’t let the low price point fool you. This long-sleeve cardigan puts some of my expensive designer options to shame. It’s made from a midweight cotton-blend fabric and screams quiet luxury with its chunky matte gold buttons, chest pockets, layered cuffs, and scalloped trim.

I added it to my closet in bay leaf, an olive green, but it also comes in five other stunning options that I’m currently eyeing, like ivory, maroon, and ballet pink. The older I get, the more I rely on low-lift outfits that take minimal effort but look polished. This cardigan styled with jeans is a no-brainer look I wear on repeat.

Nearly 300 shoppers rated the sweater five stars for its high-end quality and inexpensive price tag. One person said it’s comparable to a pricier sweater from J.Crew and suggested sizing up if you prefer a looser fit. The length is slightly cropped, and the sweater has an overall boxy fit, per one shopper who deemed it easy to dress up or down. Another customer agreed and said it looks and feels like a designer style and is perfect for work.

Shop my new favorite cardigan (I’m definitely grabbing it in more colors) while it’s still in stock. Keep scrolling for more shopper-loved sweaters at Walmart.
