A woman who was already stressed about her friend’s lack of boundaries says she found out her pal had been snooping through her home when she wasn’t there.

In a post shared on Reddit's Am I the A--hole forum, the woman shared that she was on the verge of ending her 8-year friendship after she learned that her friend had been entering her home without permission every time she was out of town.

The original poster (OP) explains that the friend was originally a client of hers at her hair salon. They realized they lived near each other, so “Due in part to the proximity, we became very close and she would stop by three or more times a week.”

However, as the years went on, the OP said, “it became more and more exhausting to spend time with her,” so she attempted to limit their hang outs.

Recently, the OP was away visiting her daughter in college. She says the pair were trying to figure out how to sync her new home security system with her daughter's phone so she could interact with the family cats while she was away at school.

“In a clip from two hours earlier, I noticed my ‘friend’ walking through my house with the flashlight of her phone. She was inspecting every drawer, cupboard and nook & cranny. My daughter and I were in shock,” the OP wrote.

The woman said she text her friend right away, but the pal made excuses for what she was doing in the house before saying “she just needed to find something to do because she was upset with her boyfriend.”

The OP had a tenant who rented a basement apartment at the home and mentioned the incident to him. The renter then revealed he actually saw the friend there often when she was out of town, adding that he never knew she was doing it without permission.

"He said that she is at my house every time I’m out of town. He was used to seeing her around, so he thought maybe I had asked her to do something there," OP wrote.

She told her friend “our friendship was definitely over and to not contact me again," but feeling conflicted about the decision, turned to the Reddit community for advice.

The commenters nearly unanimously agreed that she made the right choice to cut ties.

One commenter put it rather emphatically, writing that OP was well within her rights because friends “don’t lie to you, ignore your boundaries, minimize your hurt, minimize their actions that hurt you, snoop through all of your s---, get mad at you when you consult someone else regarding their s----- behaviors, AND THEY DON’T COMMIT CRIMES AGAINST YOU.”

Another person said the former friend was giving “stalker vibes” and suggested the woman, “change the locks ASAP."
