When is New York Fashion Week 2025? What to know about NYFW
New York Fashion Week is back, just in time to heat up the city's chillingly cold streets.
As sub-freezing temps wrack the concrete jungle, some of the hottest looks seen at the Paris and Milan shows are expected to re-emerge for the city's first major fashion event of 2025. The official Council of Fashion Designers of America calendar promises exhibitions from some of the industry's biggest names and off the calendar celebrities and models alike will attend a slew of after-parties turning the city briefly into a star-studded romp.
Kicking off in early February with nearly 60 runway shows, NYFW's fall/winter edition will showcase the best from designers like Brandon Maxwell, Christian Siriano and Sergio Hudson. Maxwell's show, likely a tableau of handsomely fitted neutrals, will kick off the week, while Thom Browne's runway presentation, a mix of American menswear classics, will close it.
The celebrity guest list at the spring/summer NYFW runway shows was the who's who of music, Hollywood, sports and, of course, fashion. Naomi Campbell, Usher, Alanis Morissette, Suni Lee, Madonna and Susan Lucci were among the attendees spotted at the star-studded events in September.

Where is NYFW?
The runway shows take place all across the city, creating a mad dash by Uber and subway for runway models and fashion writers alike (TLDR: Wear comfortable shoes).
From the Ritz-Carlton in NoMad to the Museum of Modern Art in Midtown, designers will show off their newest looks at a diverse array of venues. In previous years, New York Fashion Week has had a central hub, whether it was the tents at Bryant Park from the 1990s through the mid-aughts to its Spring Studios home base until recently, when it briefly moved to RXR's Starrett-Lehigh Building in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood in 2024.

What is NYFW?
A seasonal event, arriving in the city twice a year, New York Fashion Week has historically served as a way for designers to showcase their creations to journalists and store buyers with presentations and runway shows.
While the internet has largely turned NYFW into a public square, the sheen of the events remains as bright as ever as amateur fashion critics and aspiring designers alike wait with bated breath to see which celebrities will attend (and sometimes walk in) the shows and which trends will rule the season's runways.

How to watch NYFW shows for free
The CFDA, which organizes Fashion Weeks across the globe, partnered for the first time last year with Rockefeller Center to stream presentations of collections for public viewing.
This year, not all the shows will be broadcast, but you can follow along with USA TODAY's up-to-date coverage.
