From Woman's Day

In an intimate interview with W Magazine for the fashion title's December issue, singer, songwriter, actress, and legend Barbra Streisand offered fans an intimate look into her life, revealing whether or not she sings in the shower, her favorite junk food indulgences, and her ultimate Hollywood crush. Here, we rounded up four of the most interesting things we learned about Barbra from the interview:

1. Barbra's not above indulging in junk food.

When Barbra got her first broadway show, I Can Get It for You Wholesale, W asked if she celebrated with a special meal. "I like either very fine food or very junky food-pommes de terres soufflées and steak Diane or a great Nathan's hot dog and French fries," Barbra responded. "I probably celebrated with French fries." (A girl after our own hearts.)

2. Barbra's a fan of bearded men (and telling it like it is).

Next up, the magazine asked what it's like to date when you're Barbra Streisand. Barbra shared details about her first date with now-husband James Brolin. " I met him at a dinner and expected a bearded mountain-man type, and he had cut off all his hair and was clean-shaven," she said. "I asked him, 'Who screwed up your hair?' He later told me that's when he fell in love with me. My fella likes to hear the truth, which is unusual."

3. Barbra doesn't sing for fun.

With a voice like Barbra, one would think she would be belting out tunes every chance she gets. But it seems that Babs isn't a fan of singing in the shower-or anywhere that isn't a stage, for that matter. "I don't sing around the house or anywhere," she said. "I never sing unless it's for a purpose, like fundraising or making a record."

4. Barbra had a teenage crush on Marlon Brando.

When it comes to Hollywood crushes, Barbra says it's always been Marlon Brando (despite revealing to Piers Morgan in 2012 that she turned down Marlon's advances in the 1970s). Barbra explained:

"Since I was 13, Marlon Brando was my favorite. I saw him in Guys and Dolls-and that was it. Interestingly, there was a period of 27 years when I didn't sing in public, because of stage fright, and when I finally did, I created a scenario in which I sang "I'll Know" with Marlon Brando in Guys and Dolls. I put myself in his movie! I invited Brando to my house to see the piece, and he made me take him through my entire show. We then watched a movie together. It was wonderful: He was my idol, my biggest crush."

Awkwardly, Barbra's W admission came out just as Marlon was back in the news for being part of a controversial scene in his 1972 movie, Last Tango in Paris. Barbra has not commented on the matter.
