Zendaya was the embodiment of spring at the weekend, as she stepped out in New York City for the pre-Met Gala dinner ahead of tonight's main event. The Challengers star looked unreal in a John Galliano semi-sheer floral vintage midi dress, taken from the 1998 Haute Bohemia collection.

The gown, which featured sheer backless detailing and a mesh top, was embellished with pink butterfly and floral detailing, as well as a sweet bow that was placed in the centre of her chest.

The body of the dress included further texture, notably a woven floral design that flowed all the way down to the skirt. The bottom of the gown sported a separate intricate design - a section of horizontally striped white embroidery.

Zendaya paired the chic look with a pair of white Louboutin heels, a cherry red manicure, and her honey-blonde bob styled in a sleek blow-dry and parted to the side to create extra volume. The 27-year-old kept her makeup subtle and spring-like, too, opting for a peach-pink lip, a layer of mascara, and a touch of blush. She also wore a pair of simple silver stud earrings to complete the overall fit.

Thanks to Zendaya basically being 2024's fashion queen (if you kept up with her tennis-core Challengers looks you'll know why), it's no surprise she was selected as one of the co-chairs of this year's Met Gala. Alongside the Vogue editor Anna Wintour and curator of the event, which falls on the first Monday in May, Zendaya will serve alongside Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth.

This year, the Met Gala is titled Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, while the dress code is The Garden of Time.
