This outlet extender has become an absolute necessity for charging devices in my household — and it's a travel game-changer, too. Plus, it rings in at under $20. I recently bought a new TV, and I'm still floored by how excellent it is, particularly given its low price point. I assumed a good television would cost over $500, but this budget device has proven me wrong. It streams all of our favourite apps, has voice control technology and boasts excellent audio and visuals. I plan on repurchasing one of these TVs for my bedroom! This fabric shaver is a game-changer for those of us who own a lot of sweaters. It removes lint, fluff, fuzz balls and bobbles from your garments (plus blankets, bed sheets and fabric furniture), which helps keep your items looking brand new.

I'm a big fan of the shaver for sweaters, but it doesn't make a world of difference for thicker fabrics, like blankets. You also need to be cautious not to use it on delicate fabrics because it might tear the material. That said, it's super handy for sweaters, cardigans and some jackets. — Kayla Kuefler, Senior Shopping Editor

I made my dental hygienist proud with this purchase. This rechargeable water flosser helps keep my teeth clean and helps remove stubborn plaque. While it doesn't replace flossing altogether, it has different pressure modes, including "soft," which is for beginners and won't hurt your gums. This model has earned more than 21,000 Amazon reviews and is a fixture on my bathroom vanity. — Elizabeth Di Filippo, Senior Lifestyle and Features Editor

I have re-purchased these retinol eye masks multiple times in 2024, and I can't get enough of them. Something about an eye mask makes me feel a little luxurious, and I love it. It's perfect for self-care moments (which I suggest everyone has more of in 2025). These restoring patches don't sting my under-eye area as other products do, and they're super cooling, too. And the best part? They ring in at just about a dollar per mask. — Melina Brum, Shopping Editor

I've been fighting adult acne most of my life, and while these hydrocolloid patches don't prevent pimples, they definitely help clear them up. When I have a painful blemish or whitehead, I just pop one of these patches on it for a few hours, and it sucks all the gunk out of my face. Gross? Yes. Effective? Extremely. The patches also help to prevent me from picking at my skin, which is an issue I struggle with. I do wish they were a bit bigger for some of my more monstrous pimples, but that's a minor problem. — SR

My condo's spare room curtains have been unsightly for years — we're talking threadbare, mostly-sheer blinds that had seen better days. Despite complaints from guests, I never switched them because I thought blind buying and installation was too tough of a job. But after buying the Joydeco Blackout Curtains, I am now incredibly embarrassed I put this task off for so long. These blinds, which boast more than 4,500 reviews, took all of 10 minutes to install (we also switched out our curtain rods), and the spare room looks way better. The only downside? When my husband and I had a friend visit, he didn't get out of bed until noon because these blinds kept the room so dark — so you might want to set an alarm! — HH

The aforementioned drapes we purchased didn't come with ties, so we picked up this affordable set of magnetic curtain tiebacks. They snap into place easily and look sleek — and if you're like me and can never seem to tie a bow correctly, I'd highly recommend them. — HH

I live in an extremely old building where none of the electrical makes sense, which means we struggle with a lack of built-in lighting and functional AC outlets. We recently bought these motion-sensor, rechargeable wall sconces, and they've made our entryway so much better. They turn on when we walk by them and switch off after 15 seconds of no movement. The battery lasts for about two months before needing to be recharged via USB. I wish they were a bit brighter, but I'm still very happy with them! — SR

This heatless curler gives me great curls overnight, and I don't even need to touch them up with a curling wand. My favourite part is that the satin material allows for a frizz-free finish! Plus, it requires very minimal effort for great results — it takes me about five minutes to set it all up and head off to bed. Shoppers are "honestly mind blown," and I have to agree. I am not the first person to tout the beauty of Clinique's Black Honey Almost Lipstick, and I won't be the last. If you want a lip product that's universally flattering and moisturizing with a fool-proof application, this is it. The lipstick-adjacent formula looks amazing (and different) on everyone, and among the myriad of lip products I own, it's by far the one I reach for the most. — KK

I live in a tiny apartment with very little storage. I have one closet that houses not only my washer/dryer but also my linens, suitcases, clothing and cleaning supplies — which, as you can imagine, means I have to put a lot of thought into how I store things.

Because I don't have room in my closet, I store items like patio cushions, out-of-season clothing and winter jackets under my bed and couch. This is only made possible by these Amazon Basics Vacuum Storage Bags.

The vacuum seal bags save space by compressing bulky textiles by as much as 80 per cent. They're durable and reusable, and they help protect whatever's inside from moisture, dirt, mould and odours. The set includes an easy-to-use hand pump to remove the air, but the bags can also be attached to a vacuum cleaner hose for faster deflation.

Overall, I love and would recommend them, but there are a few tips to note: first, you don't want to fill them to the brim. The bags I have over-stuffed don't hold their seal, so the air will re-inflate over time. Second (and maybe obviously), they only really work with textiles. I tried to store away my Camino de Santiago travel backpack, but it re-inflated almost instantly. However, if you follow the packing limits and stick with textiles, these vacuum storage bags are a lifesaver for small spaces. — KK

I've always been a paperback supporter, but ahead of a recent trip to Europe, I was finally swayed to buy an e-reader. It's lightweight and holds a charge for weeks on end, and it saved so much room in my carry-on bag. While my Kobo Clara Black & White is currently sold out, I'm eyeing the colour version, which isn't much more. It has hundreds of five-star ratings, and shoppers say it's great for bringing graphic novels to life. — HH

Among my favourite life hack items is the Perilogics Universal Airplane in Flight Phone Mount. I travel quite a bit, and among my many grievances with airlines is the lack of TVs on domestic flights. While it's not a TV, this phone mount attaches to the seat in front of you so that you can mount your phone and watch whatever you have saved without holding it or balancing it haphazardly.

It takes a few minutes to figure out how to use, but once you get the hang of it, it's a game-changer. I have had several flight seatmates ask me about the phone mount, so I'll go ahead and tell you what I told them: it's worth it! — KK

I was considering purchasing a pricier essential oil diffuser, but then I figured, what's the point? This one holds enough water for me, and I am very pleased with its performance. It fills up the room despite its small size, and it's quiet, too! And as a bonus, it acts as a little light with many different colours (which can be turned off, too). I use it to replace candles, and it's delightful. You can find tons of essential oils on Amazon as well. — MB

We've lived in our home for a year, and the hard water has done a number on my hair. We installed this shower to help filter minerals and chlorine and help soften the water. Along with a clarifying shampoo, I've noticed that some life is coming back to my hair. Plus, it has different spray modes and is easy to clean. — ED

It's safe to say I'm obsessed with this kettle. Not only does it look super sleek in my kitchen space, but it's also incredibly functional and responsive. The water stays hot for a long time, and it can hold a large amount of liquid. To be honest, there's something about a luxurious appliance that just amplifies the experience. — MB

My fiancé loves to cook and bake, and our kitchen and freezer were turning into a lawless land of mystery containers. This handy label maker has been so helpful for keeping track of everything. He prints out little labels that say what the food is and what date he cooked it (for example, Halal Chicken Stock, Jan. 7), which makes things much easier to find. — SR

I love this rich moisturizer on its own or as a base under my makeup. I have super dry skin, especially in the winter, and I love to put this on in the morning and at night to give my skin some much-needed hydration. A little goes a long way, and I haven't had any breakouts because of it! — ED

Between my air fryer, kettle and other appliances, I have limited counter space. For me, my coffee maker needs to be on display since we use it every day, so I figured, why not make a little coffee nook? This sideboard was a bit of a risk because I was unsure how it would look — but it was the perfect match. Plus, I have extra storage thanks to the cupboards and drawers. — MB

  • Airplane footrest: This airplane footrest is a viral travel hack, but IMO, it doesn't live up to the hype. While it did alleviate some discomfort on a long flight, if you're sitting in economy, the seats are likely too cramped together for it to work as designed. If you're interested, you can read my full review here for more details. — HH

  • Pan organizer: I thought a pan organizer would help me out, but it didn't. The contraption ended up being more of a hassle and didn't end up fitting in our cupboard (which was 100 per cent my fault). — MB

  • Mattress topper: With more than 120,000 reviews, I thought this mattress topper was the solution to making my old, lumpy bed more comfortable. It was excellent for about a month — but then it started ripping apart, which was annoying. After three months, it totally fell apart and became unusable. I threw it out and got an Endy mattress, which has been one of the best investments ever. — SR

  • Shower caddy: Don't be confused by this. I totally recommend a shower caddy, and I benefit from mine. However, the specific one I purchased has stained my shower tile with rust marks, which is incredibly inconvenient to me. — MB

  • Sparkly cowboy boots: Now, before you wonder about this one, all you need to know is that I attended the Taylor Swift Eras Tour. These boots were a good idea until they weren't. While they were very cute and fitting, a wire inside ended up stabbing my foot during the concert. So, when it comes to Amazon boots, be sure to do a quality check beforehand. — MB
