Is there anything better than a simple, small-batch treat that takes about 10 minutes to throw together and satisfies both sweet and savory cravings? If your answer is, “No, there is nothing better,” then you need to know about these s'mores-like cookies with a “perfect ratio in every bite.”

Melissa Ben-Ishay, aka Baked by Melissa, is one of our favorite cooks to watch on TikTok. Everything she makes looks irresistible, whether it's a fully loaded green salad or a meat sauce so satisfying, you can scoop it up with just a chip. Better yet, many of her recipes are simple to make and pack in nutrient-dense ingredients.

But sometimes, she makes a treat (her specialty; by the way, she owns a super popular cupcake business) that catches our attention. And recently, she made a 4-ingredient snack that looked so delicious, we could almost taste it through our phone screens.

Better Than S’mores Cookies

“These cookies are better than s’mores,” she says in the TikTok video, adding that there’s a perfect ratio of ingredients in each bite. There are no precise measurements of the four easy-to-get ingredients, and no cookie scoops are needed for uniform size. This recipe is an eyeball-it type that anyone can master.

In a big bowl, Melissa combines:

  • A handful of pretzels, coarsely crushed by hand

  • A handful of mini marshmallows

  • A handful of chocolate chips

  • A big heaping spoonful of nut butter (use your favorite) to loosely bind the mixture together

She mixes the ingredients and places them as “globs” on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring that every glob has enough pretzels, marshmallows, and chocolate chips for her liking. She tops each glob off with another mini marshmallow or two, sprinkles them with some coarse salt, then bakes them in a toaster oven for 5 minutes—most likely at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). After removing them from the oven, she adds another layer of parchment on top and flattens the cookies with a board.

Melissa ends up with eight s’mores-like crispy, gooey treats that look so good you want to reach into your screen, grab one, and devour it immediately.

“How could something so delicious be so simple?” Melissa asks. We know the answer, and we suspect she does as well. The simple, classic ingredients and that extra sprinkle of salt create a craveable combination.

The recipe could easily be doubled or tripled. Whether you make a small or larger batch, keep an eye on the treats as they bake in the oven. The marshmallows can go from toasty brown to burnt quickly, especially if your oven temperature is slightly skewed. Speaking of marshmallows, we’re wondering if you could swap marshmallow cream, a.k.a. Marshmallow Fluff, for the nut butter to make them extra s’mores-like. It’s something we’re willing to try.

We’re adding this recipe to our 4-Ingredient treat ideas file, which already includes Ritz Cracker Cookies, Peanut Butter Mousse, and Easy Banana Pudding. You can never have too many quick-to-throw-together dessert recipes on hand!
