7 HomeGoods “Little Luxuries” I’m Stocking in My Pantry This Holiday Season (All $7 or Less!)
This time of year HomeGoods, the retailer known for its fantastic and sometimes quirky home decor, transforms into the unofficial capital of the holidays — only second to the North Pole itself. The stores’ shelves are stocked with hundreds of holiday-themed decorations, gifts, and even groceries! Yes, unbeknownst to many, HomeGoods actually has a pretty impressive groceries section packed with all sorts of pantry staples (hello, pasta!), snacks, gourmet chocolate, and much more.
I recently perused around the aisles of a nearby store and found several holiday-themed little luxuries — all under $7. These are the seven I’ll be putting out at parties, gifting to friends, and just getting into the holiday spirit with this year.
1. Jugais Fig Jam, $3.99 for 17.64 ounces
Starting out strong, this Jugais Fig Jam is just the boost that my cheeseboards deserve this year. Accompanied with goat cheese and crackers, and — violà! — the perfect bite. At just over 17 ounces, it’s large enough for at least two cheese boards. Because all HomeGoods are slightly different, if you don’t happen to see this particular brand don’t fret; there are typically plenty of different jams and preserves to choose from.
2. The Night People Snowman Sugar Cookie Kit, $6.99 for 12 ounces
Sugar cookies are a holiday-must and if you want to take the guesswork out of making dough, HomeGoods offers a sugar cookie mix that comes with the cutest little snowman cookie cutter. I can’t wait to bake with it this season (and use the cookie cutter in years to come!). The only downside is that it doesn’t come with frosting, but for under $7 it’s still a great find.
3. Silly Farms Hot Chocolate, $5.99 for 16.9 ounces
Hot chocolate is my seasonal drink of choice this time of year and one of my favorite cocoa mixes is Silly Farms. I was delighted to not only see it in HomeGoods, but also for just under $6 (and a few cheaper than at other retailers!). I’ve consistently been in a jollier mood ever since I picked it up and made my first mug. It’s chocolatey, creamy, and good both heated and sipped on cold.
4. Tropical Fields Peanut Butter Mochi, $5.99 for 31.8 ounces
One of my favorite parts of HomeGoods is its wide selection of candies and snacks. I’m always introduced to new brands whenever I enter the store. This trip I met Tropical Fields Peanut Butter Mochi, which are individually wrapped for easy passing around this time of year (cool stocking stuffer!). The outer rice mochi layer is stuffed with creamy peanut butter and is just an absolute treat. The bag is hefty (it comes with 60 individual packages of mochi bites), but I already wish I’d picked up a second bag.
5. Daelmans Stroop Waffles, $4.99 for 10.58 ounces
Another standout sweet from HomeGoods that I snagged was these Daelmans Stroop Waffles! They feature a cinnamon-caramel filling sandwiched between two, soft waffles and are oh-so delicious. I’ve been eating them with tea in the mornings, and I know they’d be absolutely devoured in a bowl at a party. Oh, and they’re $2 to $3 cheaper here compared with other retailers.
6. Delizie Lory Pistachio & Chocolate Biscotti, $4.99 for 8.8 ounces
Biscotti is one of those cookies I only eat during the holidays because something about them just feels inherently festive. I was psyched to see this pistachio- and chocolate-flavored biscotti during my latest trip; it has the classic crumbly texture of a great biscotti with the added punch of flavor and crunch from the chocolate and pistachio bits.
7. Yo Mama’s Tomato Sauce, $5.99 for 33 ounces
For the nights that I’m not hosting or going out to eat (December is always so hecticly fun!), I rely on easy, quick weeknight dinners. A jar of marinara sauce is front-in-center in nearly each and every one of those scenarios. I spotted this new-to-me sauce that’s “even better than Rao’s,” and I immediately grabbed one for my future self. You should absolutely do the same.
