The Air Max DN8: Come and Go by Pink Bubbles Nike

At the NBA Paris Games last month, a mysterious swoosh-adorned pink sneaker was positioned on the feet of the most important attendees, from Central Cee to Gabriel Moses.

Even star player Victor Wembanyama was spotted sporting a pair pre-match.

It was soon revealed by Nike to be the Air Max DN8, a sequel to last year's Air Max DN (“Dynamic Air”).

Though the sneaker community assumed the innovative silhouette might drop on Air Max Day – as so many Air Max kicks have done in the past – it actually dropped this morning.

Considering the combined influence of those who already own a pair, we're confident the kick is about to be everywhere. If there's enough to go round, that is. You know what these sneaker drops can be like.

To explain the midsole (and the model's name), there are eight air tubes over two identical Air units – with lower pressure in the back and higher pressure in the front, they deliver an impressive on-foot experience by creating a sustained flow.

The tubes are lower to the ground than the DN, you'll notice. They are more effectively compressed this way, affording the wearer a spring in their step.

As for the upper, it takes more inspiration from the Nike Air Max TN (“Tuned Air” – also known as the Air Max Plus), the DN's forbearer, as it does the shoe itself. You could say the genes have skipped a generation.

The fluid look of the breathable upper mimics the plastic cage of the TN using lightweight fabrics, providing the silhouette with a modern aesthetic that's familiar enough to sway even the most fussy sneakerheads.

Central Cee, for example.

The Nike Air Max “hyper pink” is now available from Nike, One Block Down (offering the best price: £132!), Goodhood and StockX.
