It’s a digital world and we spend a lot of time in front of a screen.

Whether you regularly work from a computer screen, spend time scrolling through social media on your phones or playing video games, your eyes are exposed to blue light.

Although the biggest source of blue light (light rays with the shortest wavelength and highest energy) is the sun, the amount of time we spend in front of screens can have serious impacts on our eye health.

One of the most painful side effects of blue light exposure is digital eye strain. Many people (myself included) experience eye pain after spending time in front of the computer, phone or television for a prolonged period of time. Eye pain, headaches, dry eyes and blurred vision are all common side effects of digital eye strain.

Not only can blue light cause physical pain, but it can also mess with your sleep habits. The high levels of energy in blue rays have a stimulating effect, which is why most experts advise limiting screen-time to two to three hours before bedtime.

For those who spend two hours a day or more in front of a screen, blue light protection glasses are a great solution to protecting your eyes.

So, how do they work?

Blue light protection filter lenses are transparent and have a slight residual yellow tint to them—but with no blue reflection compared to a blue light protection coating. They can help soften the harshness of harmful light providing more comfort for your eyes. In fact, they even contain light-absorbing molecules which are able to protect against the harmful effects of blue light.

“I now own 3 pairs of these in different colours. I absolutely love the quality and the price is fantastic. I’ve bought 2 other brands for blue light blocking and these are by far the better ones. They don’t feel cheap and flimsy and I absolutely love how great everything looks with these glasses. So much easier on the eyes. I wear them daily,” says one five-star customer.

“These are the best blue [light] blocking glasses. I had purchased a different brand before but I love these ones so much better. They are very sturdy and look good an all face types! You can 100% tell that these block the blue light. I am an office admin student and I love theses in class when I am looking at the computer all day and even in the mornings when scrolling social media. 100% RECOMMEND!,” says another.

The TIJN Blue Light Blocking Glasses are available in 11 different colours, these glasses are universally flattering in a trendy square frame and retail at the affordable price of only $24.
