As celebrities began to walk across the purple carpet on primetime television’s biggest night, we asked Yahoo Canada readers to decide on who were the best and worst-dressed stars of the 2019 Emmy Awards.
And now, the votes are in.
Scroll down to see the three best and three worst looks, as voted by you.
Coming in at number one on the best-dressed list with 38 per cent of the vote, the “Euphoria” star shut down the purple carpet in a Poison Ivy-esque look. Wearing an emerald green corset gown designed by Vera Wang, the 23-year old rocked cascading ‘90s auburn-hued waves down one side — very Jessica Rabbit meets old Hollywood if you ask us.
Best: Phoebe Waller-Bridge
In second place, channelling real-life princess vibes, “Fleabag”’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge graced the purple carpet in a sparkling gold gown. Featuring a plunging neckline, the Monique Lhuillier gown featured a plunging neckline and a poofy skirt that is making us re-think tulle. This look ranked up 24 per cent of votes.
Best: Mandy Moore
Pretty in pink...and red. In third place, Moore surprised fans with the night’s biggest and hottest fashion trend. Wearing an off-the-should two-toned ensemble created by celebrity-favourite designer Brandon Maxwell, the “This is Us” actress wore her hair in beautiful voluminous curls. Moore wasn’t the only one from the cast rocking pink and red. Co-star Susan Kelechi Watson arrived sharing yet another matching style moment. Shortly after, Moore tweeted, "Always happy to be here and twinning with my girl, @skelechiwatson. Thanks for having us @televisionacad! #Emmys."
Worst: Dascha Polanco
Moving on to the other end of the spectrum, Dascha Polanco tallied up 18 per cent for the worst dressed star. The “Orange is the New Black” alumni turned heads (not in a good way) and disappointed fans with her shrimp-cocktail-looking ensemble — definitely not a good call on Christian Siriano. While we could live without the puff-sleeves, we can’t deny that Polanco looks snatched in white.
Worst: Amy Adams
Coming in at second for the worst dressed of the evening with 20 per cent was Amy Adams. From colour to fit to that questionable collar on the neckline, Adams’ black organza Fendi couture gown surely didn’t do her any favours — not even the giant hoops saved this look. While we typically appreciate a modest, gothic dress, this moody outfit should stay on the runway.
Worst: Kim Kardashian
The title of the worst dressed star goes to Kim Kardashian with a whopping 27 per cent of votes. Standing beside little sister Kendall Jenner, who wore a red floral Richard Quinn gown with a black latex bodysuit underneath that made the ensemble even more jaw-dropping, Kardashian’s skin-tight dress easily faded into the background. While we expected a lot more from the Skims founder, she lost additional style points in our book for basically wearing the same dress she wore the weekend prior.
