Dua Lipa is one of the hottest names in the music business. However, when it comes to the fashion industry, the singer has a lot to learn.

The 22-year-old British singer recently announced plans to launch four capsule collections with the company that owns H&M, /Nyden starting in the fall.

Lipa confirmed that the clothing would be unisex, and replied to fans saying that her goal was to create an affordable collection that was “universal and accessible to everyone.”

There’s just one little problem, and it has fans very upset.

Lipa followed her announcement of the line with a tweet stating that the line would only be available up to a size 16 UK – which translates to a size 14 US.

While a dress size 16 may be the UK average, a 2016 study reported that the national dress average for the United States had increased from a size 14 to a size 16.

This means many of Lipa’s fans across the pond won’t be able to wear anything in her collection.

Fans were quick to share their disappointment on social media. One replied, “Dua I love you, but I know you have a lot of fans who are bigger than size 16 and they would loveeeee for your clothes to go just a littleeee bit bigger. Please make a plus size range for them [sic].”

For many, this was just another example of fashion lines excluding a majority of their demographic, something many shoppers experience on a daily basis at major retailers.

Lipa has not yet addressed her fans concerns.

Her partnering company, /Nyden, have released a statement regarding the collaboration.

Stina Force, the Creative Director of /Nyden said, “Dua is one of the most renowned pop artists in the world today. Her strong and fierce attitude, not to mention distinctive style, make her a perfect fit for the /Nyden tribe and philosophy.”
