A European getaway just got cheaper.

PLAY Airlines, a discount carrier based in Iceland, recently announced a 25 percent discount on flights from the United States to Europe, including Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, London, and Paris. Best of all, the tickets can be purchased now for travel throughout the spring, fall, and winter travel seasons.

The discounted fares are available in PLAY Basic, and the discount only applies to airfare, and not taxes or fees. The fare class only includes a small bag or backpack, and does not include advance seat assignment, and requires a change fee for reservation modifications.

Travelers can book the discounted flights through February 6, 2025 on select flights throughout 2025. A full listing of available days is on PLAY’s website

The discounted flights depart from PLAY Airlines' three hubs in the United States, which include Baltimore/Washington (BWI), Boston (BOS) and New York (SWF). Travelers may not be familiar with SWF, which is New York Stewart International Airport located 67 miles north of New York's Penn Station, or about a 90-minute drive. The airport offers an express bus service to and from the Port Authority Bus Terminal to assist passengers.

As an example fare, a round-trip from Boston to Paris in October 2025 would regularly cost $345.41, however, after the discount the price drops to $300.41.

A popular feature with PLAY Airlines is the stopover option. Travelers can book a stopover of up to ten days in Iceland at no extra fee. This means if a traveler was flying from Washington to Berlin, they could stop in Iceland for several nights to enjoy the country.
