Debbie Reynolds has died at the age of 84. The heartbreaking news comes only hours after it was announced that the icon's daughter, actress Carrie Fisher, passed away after suffering a massive heart earlier this week.

Debbie’s son Todd Fisher confirmed his mother’s death to the Associated Press on Wednesday (Dec. 28). Discussing the singer-actress's passing with Variety, he said, "She wanted to be with Carrie." Earlier in the day it was reported that the legendary actress was rushed to the hospital following a suspected stroke.
The star's death has sent shockwaves throughout Hollywood, as actors and directors alike are still coming to terms with the death of Carrie just over 24 hours ago.
The Singin' In the Rain star died just one day after her daughter Carrie Fisher.
Following Carrie's death yesterday (Dec. 27), Debbie broke her silence on Facebook to thank fans for their support of the late Star Wars actress. She wrote: "Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter. I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop. Love Carries Mother."
Debbie made her mark in Hollywood alongside Gene Kelly and Donald O'Connor.
The Oscar-nominated actress was considered one of the biggest stars to come out of Hollywood's golden age. Born in Texas in 1932, Debbie was discovered at the age of 16 and went on to star in more than 40 films and dozens of television productions.
Her breakout role was in 1952's Singin in The Rain, which saw the fresh-faced actress dance her way into film history alongside Gene Kelly and Donald O'Connor.
Debbie is survived by her son Todd and 24-year-old granddaughter, Billie.
