Day 1: Advent Calendar Cookies

To help us count down the days to the 25th and remind us to enjoy every fleeting moment, we turn to all shapes and sizes of advent calendars. This year, we’re excited to do things a little differently, and bake up a batch of sugar cookies to serve as our countdown. This cookie countdown is as fun to decorate as it is to eat, and makes a delightful gift for the holidays too.

Day 2: Peppermint Sheet-Pan Bars

While peppermint and chocolate (à la classic peppermint bark) is a wonderful pairing, these bars really let the peppermint shine all on its own. They have it all: a tender, almost chewy base that is somewhere between a sugar cookie and a blondie; swoops of minty cream cheese frosting with swirls of candy-cane red and pink; and best of all, the perfect effort-to-yield ratio.

We’ve got a festive treat that’s sure to knock your elf socks off and impress even the grinchiest of holiday guests, without too much effort or a ton of hard-to-find ingredients: snowy chocolate peanut butter edible pine cones.

Though we’re all for pulling out all the stops for holiday baking masterpieces, sometimes you just really want or need some festive cookies, like right now. That’s where these chocolate cookies come in. It doesn’t get much easier than opening a box of cake mix and winding up with a killer batch of cookie dough, but even better is how versatile these are—you can use any mix-ins you like.
