Jenna Bush Hager Shares the Meaningful Mantras She Tells Her Kids to 'Infuse Goodness' Before Bed
The talk show host shares three children with her husband Henry Hager
Jenna Bush Hager aims to "infuse goodness" into her children every night.
On the Monday, Feb. 3 episode of Today with Jenna & Friends, the talk show host, 43, shared with guest co-host Ego Nwodim, 36, that she whispers a specific mantra to each of her kids before they go to sleep.
While she keeps the current ones private for only her and her children's ears, she shared an old mantra that she used for her daughter Poppy, 9.
"For Poppy, it was ‘You are loved, you are loved, you are loved, they all say,’ " she said. "And, I thought I made it up and then I realized I got it from a book. But, I try to just infuse goodness right before bed."

Bush Hager shares her three children, two daughters and a son, with husband Henry Hager. The couple, who wed in 2008, welcomed their first daughter Mila, 11, in April 2013. Two years later, the Hagers expanded their family with their daughter Poppy, 9, in August 2015. Rounding out their family of five, the duo added their son Hal, 5, to the family in August 2019.
The former first daughter said “logistics can be difficult” while juggling all three kids and she’s “making sure that each child has the love that I know I feel for them.” However, at the end of the day, “It’s fun,” she added. “I’m really happy.”
"I think having children and your body changing in that way is such a good sort of reset where you're like, 'Wow, I've been doing this incredible thing, and my body is so much more than a vessel to be made fun of, to be worrying about,' " Hager told PEOPLE about how her children have impacted her body image.
Bush Hager always wanted to become a mother, saying on Today in October 2022 that it was her "biggest dream." Rather than talking about "motherhood or marrying" with her daughters, Hager shared that they discuss their future career paths.
"My biggest dream was to be a mom," she said. "That's all I wanted. And my girls, I said to Henry, they have these other dreams."
"Mila's like 'I'm going to write a story, I'm going to be an author. I'm going to be a lawyer,' all these things. Poppy's like 'I'm going to be an actor.'" she added. "I kind of love that maybe because their mom worked — and my mom worked too — that I get up every day and I'm not there to make them breakfast, but they see something different," she added, realizing that her working outside of the home had potentially opened up a world of possibilities to her kids.
