Julia Fox oozes sci-fi mermaid-core in silver chainmail dress
Julia Fox's 2024 fashion lookbook has been everything and more. Over the last 12 months, the style icon has stepped out in some unreal fits, ranging from sultry, daring, and dramatic to ensembles so bizarre that only Julia could ever get away with.
For example, there was the embracing of the gothic look with jet-black hair and bleached brows, the time she repped the no trousers trend in heels made from hair extensions, and of course, her fun bubble skirt and bubble boob top combination. But now we're wondering... has she saved the best 'til last?
The 34-year-old is currently on her debut trip to Australia for the 2024 NGV Gala at the National Gallery of Victoria. For the event, which was celebrating the launch of the Yayoi Kusama exhibition, the It girl pulled out all the fashion stops.
Taking over the pink carpet, Julia made quite the entrance in a metallic chainmail gown complete with an array of deep red jewels and detailing on the bodice. The dress - which also featured a small train at the back - was designed by Ella Jackson of the Melbourne-based label, Catholic Guilt. Quite fittingly, the brand's mantra reads: "Ecclesial armour to wear for the impending apocalypse."
As for her hair, makeup and accessories, Julia continued to prove she understood the assignment. From her silver chainmail headpiece to her mermaid-inspired silvery blonde extensions that trailed down to her thighs, Julia also donned sci-fi smokey eyes and an assortment of chunky statement rings.
And of course, because it's Julia, her footwear was anything but conventional. Is it just us, or is anyone else low-key obsessed with her red snakeskin heels that featured not one, but two platforms?
Honestly, Julia looked *so* stunning that we're not surprised she carried around a vintage oval mirror for the duration of the night. Genius, really.
