Meghan Markle breaks protocol in $550 tuxedo mini dress from Canadian designer

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry broke a month-long hiatus from the public eye on Wednesday evening as they attended a gala performance of Hamilton at Victoria Palace Theatre in London.

The evening will raise awareness and funds for the work Harry’s charity, Sentebale, does for children and young people affected by HIV.

For the occasion, the Duchess of Sussex stunned in a black tuxedo dress from Canadian brand Judith & Charles. The $550 CAD dress diced with protocol, at roughly five inches above the knee.

It’s the first time she’s worn the little-known Canadian tailoring label, who boast a modest 6,000 followers on their collective social media channels — a number we expect to skyrocket very soon.

The Duchess paired the look with simple, black pointy court shoes and a black clutch.

As for her beauty look, the Duchess swapped her signature daytime low-bun for a higher evening style, wearing it with a dark smoky eye and nude lips.

Prince Harry arrived beside his wife wearing formal black tie.

Ahead of the show, the Duke and Duchess met with Lin-Manuel Miranda, as well as the cast.

For royal watchers happy to see the couple back in the public eye, we’re next due to see them on Sept. 4 at the Well Child Awards.
