Meghan Markle Rewore Her Iconic Daring Red Gown For A Surprise Gala Appearance
The Duchess of Sussex is back on the red (or in this case, green) carpet.
Meghan Markle made a surprise appearance over the weekend at the 2024 Children's Hospital Los Angeles Gala, held at the JW Marriott Los Angeles Live. For the occasion, she delivered a bold sartorial statement in a stunning scarlet dress by Carolina Herrera – although this wasn’t her first time wearing the daring design. Rather, she repurposed the U-neck bustier column gown after previously wearing it in 2021 to the Intrepid Museum Salute to Freedom Gala.

The radiant red dress still made an impression the second time around, thanks to its fitted waist and plunging neckline. Meghan opted to wear the gown without its detachable train – though she favoured the detail last time – instead choosing to spotlight the garment’s subtle skirt slit. Her legs peeked out from the small opening, allowing a better look at her red, open-toed slingbacks.
Keeping the focus on her dress, Meghan accessorised simply with small diamond earrings, her gold Cartier Love bracelet, and a smattering of gold rings. Elsewhere, she added more sparkling touches by way of her glowing beauty look, which included a shimmering gold smokey eye, flushed cheeks, and a nude manicure, while her hair was styled in effortless soft waves with a middle parting.
Though Prince Harry wasn’t at the event, the Duchess didn’t walk the carpet alone. Instead, she was accompanied by longtime friend Kelly McKee Zajfen, who looked enchanting in a ruffled lavender gown. Later in the night, Meghan also mingled with her fellow gala guests, including children who have benefitted from Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
