Mindy Kaling and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan are a vision in blue.

The duo, known for their work on Netflix's "Never Have I Ever," showed up at a South Asian event in Los Angeles, which Kaling posted a photo from on Instagram on Wednesday. In the shot, the 43-year-old star posed beside Ramakrishnan, 20, on a sidewalk in front of some green foliage.

For the evening, Kaling wore a blue, pink and yellow sari by Cherie D, pairing the elegant piece with yellow open-toe heels, as well as silver dangly earrings and a necklace from Le Vian Jewelry. Beside her, Ramakrishnan wore a periwinkle blue sleeveless babydoll dress, along with white and gold open-toe heels and two white ribbons in her hair.

"Surprise guest star [Maitreyi Ramakrishnan] joined me for an amazing night of South Asian bonding and delicious food by [Badmaash]," Kaling captioned her post.

Fans were quick to show their love for the duo, with many noting their beauty and stunning outfits.

"Gorgeousness!" someone commented with three red heart emojis.

"So proud of what you do, [Mindy Kaling], for our Gen Z daughters!" someone else shared.

"Both beautiful as always. They look fabulous," added one fan.

"Favourite duo," another fan penned with a red heart emoji.

"You’re in auntie mode!" one person wrote.

"Awww such fun aunt and niece vibes," someone chimed in.

Since Kaling casted Ramakrishnan as the lead character in "Never Have I Ever," Ramakrishnan has developed a close relationship with the actress-writer-director. Ramakrishnan, who's from Mississauga, Ont., has called Kaling a mentor and "fairy godmother" in the past.

During an interview on "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon" in August, Ramakrishnan explained that her "favourite thing" to do is tell people that her and Kaling are "distantly related, because they feel awkward."

"They're like, 'Oh yeah, because you guys are both brown, you guys got to be related,'" Ramakrishnan told host Jimmy Fallon. "And then they're like, 'Oh yeah, that makes sense.' And I'm like, 'No, no, I totally made that up.'"

During a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, Ramakrishnan further explained why she looks up to Kaling.

"Mindy is amazing. I don’t know how she manages to do so many things at once. I think she’s got clones or something," the "Turning Red" actress shared.

But the love also goes both ways. In 2021, the duo sat down with Today to talk about "Never Have I Ever," and Kaling revealed her admiration for Ramakrishnan.

"She's the most exceptional young actress that I've ever met. She's also my daughter and I thought that this would be a good time to tell everyone," Kaling joked. "I wish she was my daughter."

During the interview, Kaling added that she sees Ramakrishnan as "an incredibly talented high school kid," and knew how special she was "from the moment we met her" during auditions.

"We saw her and we said, 'she's a star.'"
