“When weddings can cost tens of thousands of dollars and prices have only become even more outrageously inflated in recent years, it pays to hold your wedding in a city that’s affordable, both for those paying for the wedding and for guests who will need to make accommodations," analyst Chip Lupo said in a news release.
When is Valentine's Day?
Friday, Feb. 14 is Valentine's Day, ushering in romantic gestures, heart-shaped paraphernalia and professions of love.
The origins of the holiday remain a bit of a mystery, but it could date back to saints in the Catholic Church or an ancient Roman fertility festival.
Regardless of its origins, Valentine's Day is not only celebrated in the U.S., but also in Canada, Mexico, the U.K., France and Australia. It has become greatly commercialized, as the National Retail Federation projects Americans will spend $25.8 billion on Valentine’s Day this year.
