The love for all-dressed potato chips knows no borders. Devoted U.S. fans have created entire Reddit threads in search of the Canadian classic. Not wanting to disappoint, Ruffles recently announced its All Dressed chips are returning to shelves for a limited run.
Naturally, we got our hands on a few bags and sampled them for ourselves. Let’s just say, it was a very quick taste test.
What You Should Know About Ruffles All Dressed Potato Chips
After popping up on U.S. shelves in 2015, Ruffles All Dressed have been in and out of our lives ever since. For those just hearing about the hype, all-dressed chips are a blend of “tangy, savory, and sweet flavors,” according to the brand. Think: ketchup-, barbecue-, sour cream and onion-, and salt and vinegar-flavored chips all in one.
The classic ridged potato chips are coated in a handful of spices — paprika (and paprika extract), garlic and onion powder, plus other spices and natural flavors. Ruffles All Dressed relaunched in mid-September and are here for a limited time only (so if you spot them, grab a bag). They’re currently available in two sizes: 2.5 ounces for $2.69 and 8 ounces for $5.99.

My Honest Review of Ruffles All Dressed Potato Chips
I opened up the bag in our office kitchen and was immediately hit with a wave of vinegar. The chips had an orange tinge to them — the seasoning was more of a dusting. (I was expecting them to be vibrant in color and fully COATED.) I popped one in my mouth and went on a flavor journey.
First thing I tasted was vinegar, then the barbecue sauce, and finally ketchup. While the flavor is strong up front, it dissipates quickly, so I was left with the familiar salty crunch and potatoey taste of a classic Ruffle. It really was a joyful ride, and I was a little bit sad not to have a sandwich nearby so I could pile them on top.
Once people in the office got word that these chips had arrived, they went fast. The bag was empty in five minutes flat.
Terri, managing editor, who was already familiar with them said: “Oh, they’re just amazing. They’re my husband’s favorite flavor of chips. It’s like barbecue, but better, slightly more tangy, paprika-y, vinegary.” Ola, culinary assistant, also loved the way all the flavors popped and came through.
Others staff members, new to the flavor, were equally as impressed. Cullen, associate home editor, said they reminded her of Zapp’s Voodoo Chips (a comparison others in the Reddit thread had mentioned). And April, strategic partnerships manager, thought they’d pair perfectly with an onion dip.
The chips went so quickly that people kept asking if I had extra bags they could take home. (Sorry, I did not.) Thankfully we work close to several places where they can still pick them up.
