Savannah Guthrie is setting the record straight after a viewer called her wardrobe “fugly.”

The Today co-host took took to Twitter to defend her morning show style after a viewer blamed the show’s producers for what they felt was a less than flattering look.

“It’s one thing that you often wear odd choices,” wrote a woman named Patricia Murphy, “but today’s dress wins the prize for #FUGLY.”

Although she could have left the harsh comment go, the 46-year-old journalist and attorney made it known that when it comes to her on-air sense of style, it’s 100 per cent her call, tweeting, “I dress myself! Don’t blame the producers!”

The dress in question was a $2,295 USD dusty rose dress by designer Derek Lam.

Fans came to Guthrie’s defence, including actress Mindy Kaling who tweeted, “I love your outfits. Literally wish there was a website to find out what everything is!”

After feeling the wrath of social media, Murphy deleted her original tweet and issued an apology.

“I give my heartfelt apology to Savannah Guthrie… and anyone I offended by/appalled at my words. I can’t stand mean people and can’t believe I did such a stupid thing,” she wrote.

Guthrie accepted the apology, and even tweeted a screen cap of some of the feedback she receives from viewers noting how mixed people’s reactions can be.

Earlier this year, Guthrie’s “fans” weighed on on her wardrobe saying that her polka-dot dress made her look like she was pregnant and began congratulating her on social media.

‘It’s just the dress,” the mother-of-two replied. “Excuse me while I go burn it.”

Guthrie addressed the commotion the next day saying, “They mean well. We have the best viewers, they’re so nice and they were so cute. They’re like ‘Congratulations!’ and I’m like, ‘Congratulations on my second gym membership that I need to obviously go to.”
