'She needs a reality check': Cardi B's $80,000 gift to infant daughter upsets fans
Cardi B wasn’t joking when she rapped about her love of money.
The 26-year-old Grammy-winner recently splurged on $80,000 USD worth of diamonds for her 10 month-old daughter, Kulture.
In a now deleted Instagram post, Cardi shared a screencap of a text detailing her most recent lavish purchase from New York based jeweller Pristine Jewellers.

“Everything will be ready at 3, bracelets are coming out cute and changed the setting to the studs with the bigger pair, send your guy at 3 also please call Linda and tell her to wire the 80k, I just spoke to her she needs your approval,” the original text read.
“Just spent a bag on my daughter, you know a bad b– gonna spoil...If I’m iced out my daughter gotta be too,” a proud Cardi captioned the photo.
She later shared a video of her daughter sporting one of the many diamond bracelets while enjoying a snack.

While the Bronx, N.Y. native has every right to spoil her daughter, some fans thought the purchase with her fans to be in poor taste.
“I’m sorry, but she needs a reality check!” one person wrote to Twitter. “If I had $80,000 just layin’ around, I’d wanna be one of those people who goes into a store around the holidays and pays off people’s bills anonymously. It would make me feel good and make a difference in people’s lives. It’s all about paying it forward.”
She’s a baby, babies dont care for the materialistic things. It’s more for yourself 🤦🏼♀️🙄 Should of put that money towards her education when shes older. But her money to waste I guess

Others noted that there could have been a better way to put that money to use.
“Her money, her business. I don't care. I'd likely be quicker to place that kind of cash in a Trust Fund for her, but who knows, Cardi may already have something like that for her, and we simply aren't aware of it,” one diplomatic fan shared. “Again, her life and child, not mine.”
