Texas-based chain that delivers ‘warm and gooey’ cookies enters the Wichita market

Almost exactly a year ago, Insomnia Cookies — which delivers warm cookies during the day or late into the night — opened in Wichita, adding a storefront at Union Station, 701 E. Douglas.

Now, Wichita has just added another business that will deliver fresh-from-the-oven cookies around town.

Tiff’s Treats, an Austin-based company that started in 1999 and now delivers cookies in states including Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, Colorado, North Carolina, Florida, Oklahoma, California, Kentucky, New Mexico, Missouri and Kansas, added Wichita to its service area last week. (The company just entered the Kansas City area in late August.)

Now, Wichitans are able to order the company’s cookies either for themselves or as gifts and have them delivered to homes and businesses that are in Tiff’s Treats’ delivery zone. Cookies can be ordered and delivered daily from 10 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. They arrive “warm and gooey” and come in 11 different flavors, including chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, sugar, peanut butter, white chip almond and peanut butter chocolate chip.

Though the company doesn’t have a retail storefront in Kansas, Wichita and Topeka have just been added to a list of delivery outposts. The company partners with certified “bakery partners” in each outpost, who bake the cookies to Tiff’s Treats standards, said Liz Goodwin, a senior account executive with the company. The nearest physical Tiff’s Treats retail shops are in Oklahoma City.

The cookies are medium sized — about 3-3.5 inches in diameter — and the company offers several different options at several different price points. A half-dozen cookies is $12 and is the smallest order possible. A dozen is $24. Customers also can order different packages: A birthday “snacking and sipping” package, for example, includes two dozen cookies, two individual bottles of milk and a balloon for $63. A small cookie tray that includes six dozen cookies is $156.

Tiff’s Treats will almost always have 11 flavors of cookies ready to delivery warm to addresses around Wichita.

All cookie orders arrive packaged in white boxes with blue ribbons. And although Tiff’s Treats accepts advance orders, customers can usually get them delivered within an hour to an hour and a half of ordering. An experimental order placed at 2:22 p.m. for a house in far east Wichita on Tuesday would have arrived at its destination between 3:15 and 4 p.m., the Tiff’s Treats website said.

The delivery fee is $5.99-$6.99, though customers with a Tiff’s Treats Elites membership, which is $50 for a year (though on special now for $19.99), can get free delivery on orders totaling $15 or more.

Tiff’s Treats was founded by now-married couple Tiffany Taylor and Leon Chen. Both were 19-year-old sophomores at the University of Texas at Austin when she accidentally stood him up for a date. To apologize, she baked and delivered a batch of warm cookies, and the two had their business idea. The company now has more than 140 retail distribution locations.

People in the Wichita area can see if their addresses fall in the Tiff’s Treats delivery zone at cookiedelivery.com. Orders can be placed through cookiedelivery.com, the Tiff’s Treats mobile app, DoorDash and Uber Eats.
