Thirty-two per cent of readers think this was the worst dressed star of the week

Each week we ask our readers to channel their inner Anna Wintour and give their take on some of the best and worst celebrity fashions.

It was a tight race – but a fashion winner (and loser) has been declared!

Best Dressed: Brie Larson

If you’re going to play Earth’s mightiest hero – you better dress the part! Larson pulled out all the stops for the London premiere of “Captain Marvel.” The Oscar-winning actress donned a custom royal blue gown with gold detailing by Valentino for the event, a look put together with the help of her trusty celebrity stylist, Samantha McMillen.

Forty-one per cent of Yahoo Canada readers dubbed Larson the week’s stand-out star, but actress Selma Blair was close on the Marvel hero’s heels.

Runner up: Selma Blair

Dressed in a multicolour gown with a dramatic cape by Ralph & Russo, 31 per cent of readers voted the “Cruel Intentions” actress as their favourite look. Blair made a glamorous return to the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar party – her first appearance since revealing she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in October of last year.

The return was monumental for the star, who became emotional in front of photographers and was assisted by her friend and manager, Troy Nankin.

“He knew I wanted to be able to stand proudly as the woman I have become and hope to be. To be a part of something so special when my body won’t move clearly yet,” Blair said her friend on Instagram. “And then I felt the love from the photographers who have watched me goof around on red carpets since I was in my twenties. I felt the warmth of the bulbs. The strength of my gown. His attentive touch. And still I hoped my brain could send signals for the remainder of my time there.”

Worst dressed: Halsey

While Larson and Blair received praise for their most recent looks, voters were not so kind to Halsey. Thirty-two per cent of Yahoo Canada readers voted the “Without Me” singer and her tartan Vivienne Westwood gown the worst dressed star of the week.

While we love the star’s approach to having fun with her look and taking chances with her hair and clothes, we think this look and fabric fell flat on the red carpet. Back to the drawing board, Halsey!

Runner up: Kim Kardashian West

An honourable mention goes to Kim Kardashian West for her high-fashion fail. The reality star received 27 per cent of the votes, coming in second as this week’s worst dressed celebrity for her vintage Mugler gown.

The toga-inspired look may have been another attempt for the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star to get our attention, but we think this look should be retired – at least until Halloween.
